Kent County Health Department has two distinct Sanitarian Specialist openings within the Food Services area of the Environmental Health Division. The first position includes the primary duties of being an MDARD standardized trainer of new staff and continuing review of existing staff, quality improvement, quality assurance and the promotion of food safety education and outreach. The second position will primarily be responsible for the review of facility plans for compliance with local and state regulations, consultations with business owner/operators, program coordination, quality assurance, and other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or a related field of science or engineering and a minimum of three years of related experience. Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) through National Environmental Health Association OR Registered Sanitarian (RS) in the State of Michigan is required. Candidates who are not REHS/RS must be eligible for registration and obtain registration prior to employment.
