Description: LMAS District Health Department is currently accepting applications for an Environmental Specialist, based our Munising office.  This position is full-time with benefits.

Duties include: inspecting and evaluating premises and establishments having public health significance, such as food service establishments, on-site waste water, public swimming pools, private water supplies, etc., to ensure compliance with applicable codes and laws; plan review and issuance of permits. 

Successful candidate will have knowledge of state and local laws pertaining to Environmental Health, and the ability to use a computer for word processing and program applications related to Environmental Health, and a valid drivers license. 

Position requires a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or related field.  Registration in the state of Michigan or REHS is preferred. Travel will be required.
