The Environmental Health Division of Washtenaw County Public Health is looking for two full-time Sanitarians. One will be assigned primarily to our “Food Team” and perform restaurant inspections, child care inspections and swimming pool inspections. The other will assist in the review and update of our local Pollution Prevention Program, as well as supporting several other program areas in our division.

The minimum requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry or a related field.
Registration as a Sanitarian (RS) in the State of Michigan or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) through the National Environmental Health Association preferred but not required at time of hiring.
As a condition of continued employment employees must acquire the REHS or RS within four (4) years and maintain Registration in good standing.
